people ask me why i paint self portraits. i tell them a truth, i'm my most available model. another truth: i paint myself because i want to be seen. to be understood, to be heard....by others and by myself.

painting development

This is my first time painting with a yellow ground. It is fascinating how colors work and play off each other. It makes for interesting color choices. So far, I really like it.
